The Steinway model A 2 with a round tail was built in 1900 and is 6' long. The current Steinway model A is 6'2". For a short while 1913-1947 there was a 6' 4 1/2" model A 3 called the Long A. the Model A Salon Grand piano is known for delivering a “grand” sound in a medium-scale instrument.
